World Language Department

The State of Illinois is among the first in the United States to allow School districts to award a State Seal of Biliteracy for students who demonstrate a high level of proficiency in one or more languages, in addition to English. Upon successful completion of the Seal of Biliteracy examination, a student's academic transcript and diploma will be embossed with the Seal of Biliteracy. Currently, at Crete-Monee High School, the World Language department is reviewing and revising the current curriculum to reinforce a more immersive environment in the target language, as well as incorporating authentic French and Spanish resources in an effort to assist with our students' successful completion of the ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages (AAPPL). The cost of the Seal of Biliteracy examination will be twenty dollars. If you have any questions about the process as it is outlined above and/or the examination please contact s. Michelle Cresto via phone at (708)367-2832 or via email at  [email protected].
