Crete-Monee High School is a comprehensive four-year high school serving students from the villages of Crete, Monee, University Park, and Park Forest. Our mission is to educate students to be critical thinkers and active learners, to challenge them to reach their full potential, and to prepare them to contribute positively to society.
Our student body represents a wide range of social, cultural, and religious backgrounds. This diversity enriches our school environment and is supported by a rigorous curriculum that includes honors courses, dual-credit opportunities, and Advanced Placement (AP) classes, as well as partnerships with local colleges and universities. Additionally, a wide range of extracurricular activities and athletic programs help students develop skills and experiences that prepare them for success after high school.
Recently, Crete-Monee High School was recognized in the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings for the 2025–2026 school year. CMHS is ranked 143rd in Illinois and 3,921st nationally. Schools are evaluated based on state-required test performance, graduation rates, and college readiness.
